A critical montage of unpublished materials shows, under a different light, the transition years from the “abstract furies” of Radical Architecture to the construction practice.
Between 1978 and 1984, an acceleration has occurred in Adolfo Natalini’s personal development narrated in the book “Figures of Stone”: the intertwining of the early direct experiences on the building sites, the early plans for historical towns and an intense theoretical and conceptual tension produce a highly innovative architectural practice. A plurilingual architecture reminding of Gadda’s register, who was capable of composing learned Italian and dialects into new configurations strong enough to shatter commonplaces and demolish comforting ambiences.
