The publication aims to conduct a detailed and in-depth analysis of the European CLEVER Cities project, developed in Milan, London and Hamburg over five and a half years, starting in 2018. The main objective of the publication is to provide Local governments with a comprehensive resource, enriched by interviews, methodological tools and lessons learnt from experience. The ultimate goal is to facilitate comprehension and informed planning in the implementation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in urban settings.

Through the presentation of practical insights, the book aims to offer guidance to local governments to overcome the challenges that may arise in the process of adopting NbS, paying particular attention to the bureaucratic, financial and management complexities and providing a clear and pragmatic perspective to enable effective and sustainable implementation of innovative green solutions.
