The pandemic modified the faces of cities, overturning their uses, transforming behaviours, opening up to new and original forms of enjoyment. Public space has been the driving force behind this transformation, a territory of possibilities, open space to new potentials, welcoming towards the needs of the citizens, a catalyst for unprecedented urban phenomena: from a symbol of crisis to a place of a possible solution.
The book investigates the ongoing changes in cities, gathering different points of view, also through ten interviews with local and international experts, constructing itself as an extensive dialogue, observing and prompting reflection on the uses of public spaces: therefore, it proposes a form of investigation towards a new vision of the city, through a deep observation of the activities in everyone’s space.
