Kuno Mayr (1969, San Candido, South Tyrol). Lives and works in VeniceArchitect with a PhD in Architectural Composition from the IUAV University of Venice. Visiting Professor at the Faculty of architecture of the University of Parma in Design and Planning Workshops. Teaches Modelling at the IED European Institute of Design in Venice. From 2000 to 2007, architect at the Renato Rizzi firm in Venice: 1st prize in a competition to design The Elizabethan Theatre in Gdansk; 3rd prize in a competition for The Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, along with Professor Massimo Scolari. Assistant to Professor Renato Rizzi in courses on Theory and Technique of Design and Design Workshops at the IUAV University of Venice. From 2008 to 2014, partnership with Lamberto Amistadi in the firm ‘Amistadi//Mayr Architects’. In 2014, opened his own studio, ‘Kuno Mayr Architect’ to work on various projects including architecture, design and fine art. Won with a project entitled Dorfbild Gestaltung Schlanders that was later realized, together with Christoph Gapp and Claudia Kaufmann. Developed design projects for the BeKoncrete brand with Brian Rasmussen. Has designed and built models for various architects including Zaha Hadid Architects, Renzo Piano G124, and Studio Archea. Has contributed to projects with several artists including: Alfredo Jaar, Venezia Venezia, Pavilion of Chile, La Biennale di Venezia, 2013; Jaša, Utter / The violent necessity for the embodied presence of hope, Slovenia Pavilion, La Biennale di Venezia, 2015; Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Prima che sia notte, Contemporary Italian Award, MAXXI, Roma, 2012, and Untitled (The end of the world), Italian Pavilion, La Biennale di Venezia, 2017.
