This book is the result of research carried out at the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, thanks to the University’s call for basic and applied research projects dedicated to young researchers.
SHArch, Second hand architecture for confiscated property is a collective work that aims to analyse an “Italian” condition in order to highlight one of the many critical issues in Southern Italy, namely the presence of spaces that have been confiscated but have yet to find a real second life.
Confiscated architecture tells the story of a mistake, of a virus that has spread through an area, with the project trying to reactivate the spaces and return them to the community.
